A pair of Georgian emerald green wine glasses dating to c1800, handmade from hand-blown glass. These items exhibit curved bucket bowls, central swelling knops on the stems, and circular flat bases with snapped pontils. The glass has a rich emerald green tone and a smooth finish, showing no chips, cracks or restoration. Each glass stands 11.5 cm high with a rim diameter of 5.7 cm and a foot diameter of 6.2 cm. Displayed on a sideboard top, this pair serves as a striking dining table accessory or a decorative display piece in a traditional or period home setting. They bring historical character and a strong splash of colour to living spaces, dining rooms or display cabinets.

During the Georgian period, coloured glass gained popularity for serving wine and dessert spirits, often crafted with distinct knopped stems and shaped bowls reflecting late eighteenth and early nineteenth-century dining customs.

They were hand-blown using glass infused with metallic oxides, such as copper or iron to produce emerald shades, and featured hand-turned stem knops and snapped pontil marks at the base.

Authentic Georgian glasses typically exhibit slight hand-made irregularities, subtle pontil scars or polished bases, and period-appropriate weight distribution between the bowl, stem, and foot.

These pieces make striking decorative accents arranged on a sideboard top, catch natural light inside a glazed display cabinet, or serve as functional stemware for formal table settings.

Hand wash gently in lukewarm water using mild soap and soft cloths, avoiding extreme temperature changes, mechanical dishwashers, and abrasive chemical cleaners.
