Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This Georgian oak bow front corner cupboard exhibits a curved profile with a moulded cornice positioned above two doors that enclose two shaped shelves with a painted interior. The exterior displays warm brown figured oak timber surfaces complemented by mahogany banded borders along the sides, accompanied by exposed brass H-hinges, fancy brass escutcheons, and a working lock with its key. General wear and marks appear across the structure, matching its age, alongside a good colour and patina. Measuring 99 cm high, 68 cm wide, and 47 cm deep, this piece fits compactly into the corner of a dining room, living room, or hallway to provide functional storage for tableware, glassware, or books while adding traditional English Country House character to the interior.

FAQs

Originating in the 18th century, these cupboards feature a curved convex front designed to fit into wall corners, maximising space efficiency while storing glass, china, or household items.

Primary construction utilised solid oak, mahogany, or pine, frequently featuring crossbanded veneer borders, brass H-hinges, and decorative brass escutcheons around keyholes.

Authentic 18th-century examples often display hand-planed backboards, hand-cut dovetail or mortise and tenon joints, hand-wrought iron nails, and original surface patination.

Positioned in a dining room, hallway, or kitchen corner, these units provide functional vertical storage without intruding on central floor space.

Clean the timber surfaces with a dry microfibre cloth and apply a high-quality beeswax polish once or twice a year, keeping the piece away from direct heat sources.
