This eighteenth-century Georgian wine glass dates from the second half of the 1700s, specifically around 1765. The piece is formed from clear and white English lead glass with an enamel finish, styled with a bell-shaped bowl above a long stem holding a double series opaque twist pattern. The slender stem connects to a wide conical foot that reveals a rough pontil scar on the underside and age-related wear and tear along the rim from long use. It stands at 16 cm high, 7 cm wide, and 5 cm deep, with a bowl diameter of 5 cm. Traditional drinking vessels of this period lend themselves to display on a sideboard top in an English country house setting. Collectors and enthusiasts of antique glassware can place the piece securely within a cabinet or on a dedicated shelving unit to showcase the internal white enamel tape twist and the clear lead glass construction. The proportions suit intimate gatherings or formal dining displays where historic drinkware forms a focal point of the table arrangement.

Originating in 18th-century Britain, these glasses feature complex internal spiral patterns of white enamel suspended inside the glass stem, crafted between 1755 and 1780.

These vessels were hand-blown from lead glass, incorporating rods of opaque white enamel that were heated, drawn out, and twisted inside clear molten glass to form double helix patterns.

Period examples typically exhibit a snapped or ground pontil scar under the conical foot, subtle grey tones in the lead metal, slight hand-blown variations, and age-related wear on the base rim.

Historic glassware can be arranged inside a glass-fronted display cabinet, aligned along a dining room sideboard, or incorporated into formal table place settings.

Wash stemware individually by hand in lukewarm water using mild dish detergent, avoiding dishwashers and hot water to prevent thermal shock and chemical surface clouding.
