The Art Nouveau and Secessionist movements emerged in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, characterised by organic flowing lines, stylised floral motifs, and a rejection of historicist revival styles in favour of modern craftsmanship.

Maker Erhard and Sohne frequently utilised brass, often combined with precious woods like rosewood and mahogany, employing techniques such as intarsia, inlay, and detailed metal stamping to create luxury desk accessories.

Authentic pieces often feature distinct makers marks, high-quality brass craftsmanship, precise wood inlay, and design elements typical of the Wurttemberg metalware industry of the period.

This piece can be styled as a focal point on a mantelpiece, bookshelf, or executive desk, where its geometric lines and warm metallic tones complement both contemporary minimalist spaces and eclectic interiors.

Maintain the surface by dusting gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid chemical polishes on aged brass to preserve the original patina, and keep wooden elements away from direct sunlight and extreme humidity fluctuations.
