Pierrefonds pottery was produced by the French ceramic factory located in Pierrefonds, France, gaining prominence during the late 19th and early 20th centuries for its experimental glazes and artistic forms.

Crystalline pottery is crafted from ceramic or porcelain clay bodies finished with specialised silicate glazes that encourage zinc or other mineral crystals to grow during the cooling phase of the kiln firing process.

Authentic pieces typically feature factory impressed marks, artist monograms, or distinct numeric codes on the unglazed base, alongside the characteristic handcrafted form and experimental glaze effects.

These decorative objects can be displayed as standalone sculptural focal points on a mantelpiece, console table, or open shelf, allowing their unique glaze textures to complement minimalist or eclectic modern schemes.

Preserve antique ceramics by dusting them gently with a soft, dry cloth and avoiding exposure to direct sunlight, drastic temperature changes, or liquid immersion if the interior unglazed clay is porous.
