This set of six Georgian wine glasses dates to c1780 in the Georgian style, constructed from hand-blown glass with a luminous emerald green colour. Each piece takes a cone shape with a flared bowl, a knopped stem, and a flat circular foot terminating in a visible pontil mark on the base. The transparent glass catches the light across its smooth surfaces, showing balanced proportions and clean turnings. Each glass measures 13.5 cm high by 7.5 cm wide by 7.5 cm deep. Display these wine glasses together upon a sideboard top within an English Country House setting, or bring them out for formal dining and seasonal entertaining. Their distinctive hue and period form add character to a dining table or display cabinet, functioning both as practical tableware and decorative objects for daily use or special gatherings.

Bristol green glass refers to coloured lead glass produced in England during the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, named after the prominent glassmaking centre of Bristol.

The distinctive deep green colour was achieved by adding iron oxide or copper compounds to molten lead glass before each piece was individually hand-blown.

Authentic Georgian glasses typically feature hand-polished or raw pontil marks on the base of the foot, subtle air bubbles or striations, and slight variations in bowl thickness and weight.

Displaying coloured antique glassware on open shelving, sideboards, or alongside neutral table linens creates rich colour contrast and introduces historical character to a modern dining space.

Hand wash antique glass individually in lukewarm water using a mild soap, avoiding dishwashers and abrupt temperature changes that can cause thermal shock and cracking.
