Art Nouveau ceramics are characterised by organic forms, flowing asymmetrical lines, and innovative glaze techniques, often drawing inspiration from natural structures and Japanese aesthetics.

These pieces were typically crafted from refined earthenware or stoneware, shaped by hand or thrown on a wheel, and finished with complex metallic or crystalline oxide glazes fired at high temperatures.

Authentic pieces often feature maker marks, incised signatures, or factory stamps on the base, alongside characteristic glaze crazing, weight consistency, and hand-finished irregularities typical of period production.

Place them as focal points on a mantelpiece, console table, or open shelving unit, allowing their distinct colour and silhouette to contrast cleanly with minimalist modern surroundings.

Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth and avoid harsh chemical cleaners or immersion in water to protect the historic glaze and prevent any moisture damage to the ceramic body.
