Can I change the fabric inside?

You can replace the fabric quite easily. Most linings are tacked onto thin backing boards. Pulling the old tacks out requires care so you don't split the backboard. Use brass tacks to secure the new material.

My grandmother left me a small cabinet with painted flowers on the front but the door sticks when I try to open it, how do I fix this?

Wood moves over time as humidity changes in a room. The door frame swells and binds against the carcase. The hinges might just need tightening if the screws have worked loose. Check those first with a small screwdriver. If the hinges are tight, rubbing a candle along the sticking edge deposits a layer of wax. This helps the timber glide past the frame without sanding away the original finish.

How do you clean the glass?

Spray glass cleaner onto a cloth first. Liquid pooling in the corners will rot the wooden glazing bars. Wipe gently around the fragile astragals.

I have noticed that the shelves in my cabinet are fixed in place and cannot be moved up or down, is this normal for the period?

Fixed shelves are standard for most Edwardian cabinets. They act as structural ties that keep the thin side panels from bowing outwards under weight. Adjustable shelves only became common on later bookcases. The makers assumed you'd arrange smaller items on the top shelves and taller pieces at the bottom.
