Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Sheraton Revival furniture emerged in late Victorian Britain, taking inspiration from the late 18th-century designs of Thomas Sheraton. It features light timber such as satinwood, elegant neoclassical proportions, delicate marquetry, and delicate hand-painted decoration including floral garlands and figurative vignettes.

These cabinets primarily utilised satinwood veneers over solid hardwood frames, valued for their luminous golden tone and fine grain. Decorative details incorporated exotic wood marquetry, crossbanded borders, painted enamel or oils, and cast brass hardware.

Authentic pieces display late Victorian construction techniques, such as hand-cut dovetail joints, oak or pine secondary timber for drawer linings, hand-finished back panels, and natural age-related craquelure to the original hand-painted panels and lacquer varnish.

Position the cabinet as a focal point against a neutral or deep jewel-toned wall, pairing it with contemporary artwork or structured table lamps above to balance its classical ornamentation and warm timber tones.

Keep the cabinet away from direct sunlight and central heating sources to prevent cracking or fading of the veneer and painted vignettes. Dust gently using a clean, dry microfibre cloth, avoiding commercial spray polishes or solvent cleaners that can dissolve delicate paintwork.
