Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

A drum head grandfather clock features a circular, drum-shaped hood enclosing the dial, a design particularly characteristic of Scottish clockmaking traditions from the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries.

These timepieces are typically constructed using a supportive softwood or deal carcass, veneered with figured mahogany, and fitted with brass mechanical movements, lead weights, and painted or brass dials.

Authenticity is assessed by examining the hand-painted or engraved details on the dial, the consistency of the timber patina, the presence of original maker signatures, and the wear patterns on the internal brass or iron gear train.

A tall case clock serves as a strong architectural focal point in a hallway or living room, grounding modern minimalist spaces with historical warmth and vertical proportion.

To maintain mechanical integrity, the clock should be kept away from direct sunlight and humidity fluctuations, wound regularly according to its specific weight or spring mechanism, and serviced professionally every few years.
