Quiet Street Antiques of Bath has dated this piece to the Georgian era.
Below the baluster turned gallery is an upper shelf edged with egg and dart mouldings, supported on turned and reeded supports with a smaller shelf below, similarly supported on reeded columns and with egg and dart mouldings. Further below, flanked by reeded columns, corbels and typical Gillows carved paterae, the two panel doors open to reveal the shelved cupboard (2 height-adjustable shelves), whilst the whole unit is supported on iconic turned and reeded melon feet.
A wonderful quality Gillows Chiffonier, possibly the best we have encountered in 38 years.
