Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A clock garniture is a decorative set designed primarily for a fireplace mantelpiece, consisting of a central clock flanked by two matching ornamental pieces, such as urns, side vases, tazzas, or candelabras. The arrangement became highly popular in 19th-century Europe, particularly in France, to create symmetrical visual balance in formal rooms.

Clock garnitures were crafted using quarried marbles such as Sienna, Rouge Griotte, or Belgian Black, combined with gilt bronze (ormolu), cast brass, and bevelled glass. Clock dials were frequently executed in white enamel or brass, accompanied by brass movement plates and steel components.

Authentic pieces feature heavy, solid stone or marble casings rather than lightweight synthetic imitations, along with hand-cut or hand-assembled movement frames. Look for hand-engraved serial numbers, maker stamps on the brass movement plates, mercury-filled or temperature-compensated pendulums, and natural veining pattern variations across all three components.

Position the set centrally on a chimney piece, sideboard, or architectural console table to serve as a focal point. Modern interiors benefit from pairing the structured, geometric stone forms with minimalist backdrops, plain painted walls, or sleek contemporary artwork to contrast historical craftsmanship with modern lines.

Clean stone surfaces with a soft, dry microfibre cloth, avoiding harsh chemical cleaners, acids, or abrasive polishes that can etch marble. Clock movements require professional servicing by a qualified horologist every five to seven years to keep gear trains clean and properly oiled.
