Antique Pine Microscope Slide Cabinet

1900 - 1920
Description

A fantastic pine microscope slide cabinet dating from around 1900 with a glass door, brass recessed carrying handle and 22 drawers. All of the drawers have small turned knobs and the first 21 are divided internally into three sections, each capable of holding holding 8 standard microscope slides, giving each drawer a capacity for 24 slides and meaning the cabinet can hold 504 slides! In addition to these drawers the bottom drawer is much deeper so could be used for storing spare slides or equipment.

The cabinet itself is excellent quality and the pine has a lovely mellow colour and nice aged patina. It has been fitted with a new lock and comes with a working key.

It is in good original condition and is certainly very usable. It is not new and has some minor signs of age and wear but nothing that is detrimental. The drawers all open smoothly and are generally clean and tidy.
