The wooden case has an arched hood, moulded framing around the dial, a lockable front glazed door fitted with a small brass keyhole escutcheon, and shaped supporting brackets beneath the base. A cream-painted dial displays black Roman numerals, finely blued steel hands, and an alarm dial to the centre, signed Wenham & Son Dereham within the break-arch. Suspended below the case are an exposed brass cylindrical weight and a matching brass bob pendulum hanging on a visible brass rod, alongside a dangling suspension chain.
