Galle cameo glass refers to decorative glassware created by Emile Galle and his workshop in Nancy, France, primarily during the Art Nouveau period in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

These pieces are crafted using multiple layers of coloured glass that are thermally fused, then carved, wheel-engraved, or acid-etched down to reveal contrasting background layers and intricate motifs.

Authentic pieces typically feature a signature cameo mark incorporated into the design, highly detailed multi-layered acid etching, and naturalistic botanical or aquatic motifs characteristic of the Nancy School.

Place the vessel on a mantelpiece, sideboard top, or enclosed glass cabinet where natural light can pass through the translucent layers to highlight the intricate carved details.

Clean the glass gently using lukewarm water and a mild detergent, avoiding harsh chemicals, abrasive materials, or direct prolonged exposure to strong sunlight.
