Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Cameo glass gained significant popularity during the Art Nouveau period in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, particularly through French manufacturers in Nancy. Artists used multi-layered glass techniques to depict organic motifs inspired by botany and nature.

Cameo glass is created by fusing two or more contrasting layers of coloured glass together while molten. Once cooled, the outer layers are partially removed using acid-etching or hand-carving to reveal the contrasting background layer and form a raised relief design.

Authentic pieces usually feature distinct signature styles, subtle variations in layer thickness, and evidence of chemical acid-etching or hand finishing. Signatures are typically integrated into the relief design or cameo layer rather than roughly scratched post-production.

Position cameo glass where natural or directional light can pass through the vessel, highlighting the depth of the carved layers. Styling on a mantelpiece, glass display cabinet, or window sill maximises the visual interplay of colour and transparency.

Wash gently by hand using lukewarm water and a mild dish soap, avoiding abrasive sponges or harsh chemicals. Dry immediately with a soft, lint-free microfibre cloth, and never place antique art glass in a dishwasher or subject it to rapid temperature changes.
