Regency Pair of Mahogany Bedside Cabinets by Holland and Sons

Description

Late Regency pair of mahogany bedside cabinets by Holland and Sons; a very well matched pair, having opposing doors left and right handed; the figured mahogany gallery tops having rounded front corners above a pair of figured mahogany cupboard doors with central small knob handles of typical Holland and Sons design; raised on a plinth base.

English circa 1830

Good original condition, having a good colour and patina

Dimensions (ins) 18 wide & 17.5 wide x 16 deep x 33 high including gallery

Holland and Sons were renowned 19th century cabinet makers who worked extensively for the Royal Family being granted the Royal Warrant by Queen Victoria hence furnishing Osborne House, Sandringham, Balmoral, Windsor Castle. They also worked extensively for the British Government having commissions for the Palace of Westminster, the Victoria and Albert Museum and oversaw the state funeral of the Duke of Wellington.

Being at the forefront of British fashion, Holland and Sons employed some of England's leading designers and participated in all the international exhibitions.
