Exhibition Quality Victorian Inlaid Antique Display Cabinet

This Spectacular 19th Century Exhibition Quality Victorian Inlaid Antique Display Cabinet dates from ca. 1880 and is almost certainly by Maple & Co. It has a break-fronted moulded cornice above an inlaid frieze, having satinwood cross-banding along with boxwood and ebony string inlays. The central cupboard door, has stunning fretwork carvings and a key with working lock, this is flanked by two glass panels, each beautifully shaped and finished with boxwood string inlays. The interior has two shaped shelves and we have newly lined it with a neutral fabric with matching braid trim. This fine antique cabinet stands on four tapering legs with spade feet and has a lower shaped tier. The Mahogany is a rich shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
