Late C19th Chinese Qing Dynasty carved hardwood display cabinet.

Well-carved Chinese 2-part single door glazed hardwood cabinet with pierced angled pediment .

Raised on a heavily carved and pierced base , with the frieze depicting twin opposing dragons chasing the ‘flaming pearl of wisdom’ amongst carved stylised clouds . The legs with carved masks and zoomorphic feet .

The uprights of the cabinet frame carved with coiled dragon designs, and the central pediment also carved with twin dragons chasing the flaming pearl . The side returns of the pediment carved with auspicious bats .

The edges of the oblong door-frame carved with trailing vine or floral designs. The interior fitted with 3 original adjustable shelves with carved edge detail.

In excellent original condition , with crisp well-executed carving throughout.

A superb cabinet in which to display a collection of Chinese and Oriental porcelain or objects .
