The Antique Furniture Company has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
Original gilt metal (ormolu) mounts and standing on a shaped plinth base. The glass doors fitted with a working lock and decorative gilt metal headed key, two fixed shelves to the interior.
In good solid condition with marks consistent with age, there is a corner of veneer lost at the top edge of the right door but this is not seen when closed. The interior is unlined and would make a nice bookcase or display cabinet.
