Victorian Walnut And Floral Marquetry Side Cabinet

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: The Antique Furniture Company

An attractive Victorian figured burr walnut and marquetry inlaid two door side cabinet dating to circa 1870. Inlaid with floral sprays to the front and doors and finished with tulipwood crossbanding and box stringing. Original gilt metal (ormolu) mounts and standing on a shaped plinth base. The glass doors fitted with a working lock and decorative gilt metal headed key, two fixed shelves to the interior.

In good solid condition with marks consistent with age, there is a corner of veneer lost at the top edge of the right door but this is not seen when closed. The interior is unlined and would make a nice bookcase or display cabinet.
