Description:
This is a superb quality antique English Victorian figured walnut marquetry inland pier cabinet, circa 1870, with a newly lined interior, in excellent condition, which is profusely inlaid in floral decorations and burnished with satinwood and floral marquetry including satinwood to the top centre and top left and right sides of the cabinet. The cabinet boasts the original brass ormolu mounts to the upper and lower sections.
The doors retain the original glass, working brass lever lock (with working key) and original sliding door pins. The interior has been newly lined in a taupe colour fabric; therefore, the interior is clean and free from marks. The interior has two fixed shelves and the cabinet stands on its original turned ebonized feet.

Condition Report:
The cabinet is in excellent condition, which is commensurate with its age. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges and top, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The cabinet retains its original French polish finish, which means it boast a stunning colour and patination. Importantly, thee are no splits to the walnut veneer on the top or either side. The doors retain the original glass, original working lever lock (with working key), original pin locks, original hinges and original gilt escutcheons. The marquetry inlay and gilt ormolu is all complete, with none missing and it is good condition. The interior has been newly upholstered with a taupe colour fabric; the shelves are original to the cabinet. The cabinet stands on its original turned ebonized feet. The item is solid in joint and ready to use.
