Marquetry Sheraton Revival Standing Corner Cabinet

Description

A superb quality and most elegant late 19th century Sheraton Revival mahogany standing CORNER CABINET in fine original condition.

Below the pretty cornice with its marquetry inlaid anthiemon and swan-necks are twin doors with ebony and boxwood strung Gothic glazing bars flanked by turreted columns inlaid with trailing vines.

Below the central drawer are two bow-fronted doors, also profusely marquetry inlaid, and flanked by inlaid columns, which open to reveal shelves within. It stands on solid 'toupee' feet and measures 6ft 8ins high and 35ins wide. A most elegant and high quality cabinet. * Signed to the edge of the drawer by the cabinetmakers: Edwards & Roberts.
