This is an exceptionally good quality French Empire cabinet chest, made with superb mahogany panels and quality brass mounts, finished with a Cararra marble top, circa 1840.
When the doors are opened, you find three full width drawers, mahogany fronts and solid oak lined, with dovetailed joints and all running smoothly.
It is a fantastic decor piece, such a great style but can be used as a practical chest of drawers too.
You will see one of the detailed photos showing the lock and key, the attention to detail throughout the piece is great, even down to this incredible lock and key. Both locks working, just one key though.
The marble top is in good condition, some knocks and bumps over the years, but nothing of any concern.
The cabinet chest stands on the ebonised lions paw feet.
