George III Inlaid Mahogany Night Table

18th century
Description

Good late 18th century George III inlaid mahogany bedside commode or night table. Very pleasing design with the shaping to the top, turned patera to the tops of the legs and carrying handle holes to the sides. Flame mahogany fronts with cuban mahogany cross banding and boxwood stringing. The top section is a cupboard with an up and over door. The bottom section still has all its original fittings including the turned wooden lid but no pot. The piece retains its lovely original leather and brass castors to the bottom of the legs. No splits to the top. Original brass handles throughout.

The whole piece is a very nice original colour with good patination.
