Outstanding Gillows Mahogany Bedisde Cabinet

Description

Outstanding late 18th to early 19th century Gillows of Lancaster mahogany bedside cabinet. Made from the highest quality timbers and as such is pretty heavy. Very unusual bow-fronted design with small fielded panels to either side on typical Gillows fine reeded legs. All edges of the pieces are double reed moulded which is a sihn of quality. The configuration is a single drawer above cupboard, the drawer is all mahogany lined with fine dovetails. Not stamped but un-doubtably Gillows.

The piece is in very good condition with no repairs, there is a minor hairline crack to one side but it is very minor. We have sorted out the handles but it does still retain it's quarter turn, turnbuckle catch to the door.

As good a bedisde as we have ever offered for sale.

SIZE; 15" wide by 17" deep at the widest point by 34" high overall. 32" high to the top.
