Driscolls Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
It is break fronted with a shaped top, the top having two small turned finials and a brass gallery, this sits above four glazed cupboard doors with key and working locks. The central is bevelled glass with glass shelves and mirrored back, ideal to showcase those collectables to their full potential. The outer two have elegant astragal glazing and two removable shelves. The base has four beautifully figured doors with key with working locks and the piece as a whole stands on tapering spade feet and edged with the most striking satinwood cross banding and boxwood and ebony string inlay. It also splits into two sections for easy removal and the mahogany has aged to a rich shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
