Early 20th Century Japanese Two Door Lacquered Table Cabinet

An early 20th century Japanese two door lacquered table cabinet.

This table cabinet is lacquered with a black ground consisting of two doors to the front with elaborate metal mounts and escutcheon plates with shaped recessed panels with gilt decoration depicting Oriental scenes.

The doors open up to reveal an interior of six graduated drawers with red and gold lacquered decoration with drop handles.

The top, sides and back also consists of lacquered decoration of bird, insect, floral and foliate design.

The metal mounts are copper and would have originally have been silvered.

This table cabinet is in good original condition, is of stable construction and can go straight into a home - this would make an ideal jewellery box or cabinet for collections & curiosities.
