Rare Pair of Napoleon III Boulle Cabinets

19th century
Description

Circa 1870, rare pair of Napoleon III ebonised, Boulle side cabinets. The rectangular ebonised top sits over a very fine tortoiseshell, pewter and brass inlaid frieze with a foliate ormolu border. This leads on to an inlaid shaped door enclosing a shelved cupboard. There is inlay and ormolu mounts to the sides and it all stands on a shaped, enclosed base with extensive ormolu mounts.
