Stunning Edwardian Inlaid Rosewood Cabinet

1900 - 1920
Description

Stunning Edwardian marquetry inlaid rosewood drawing room cabinet in very good original condition. Very nice design from the period and obviously made by one of the top furniture making companies of the day. The cabinet breaks down into two piece for moving and is then screw together once in place.

The bottom section has a pair of cupboard door in the middle with a drawer above, the drawer being all mahogany lined. The top section has a mirror in the middle with glazed cabinet doors on either side. The glazed doors are superb, every piece of individual glass is beveled all round. The cabinet comes with its original key which operates all the locks perfectly. One of the nice features about this piece is although it is in effect quite large it is very narrow and because of it airy design it doesn't look big.

The piece is in very good condition with no veneer repairs that I can see, the only slight damage is the right hand side turned column in the middle section has been damaged at some point in the past and repaired but once in place it doesn't notice.

As good a piece from this period I have seen.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
