Description

This is a very smart Chinese marriage cabinet from the South Eastern Fujian province which dates from around 1900. The cabinet has a most pleasing patina to the lacquered finish and the dramatic tapered shape of the piece gives great impact in any room. The double door cabinet is in solid cedarwood with a beautiful deep azure blue lacquer which is a most attractive and unusual shade for this type of piece. The doors have a large very stylish solid brass plate in the form of a butterfly with its solid brass locking pins. Inside the cabinet has very practical shelves, and a central drawer arrangement, with two further external drawers below the doors. The cabinet is in excellent condition and would add great drama to any room. It measures 178 cms high, (172 cms high at the back) 144 cms wide at the widest point and is 48 cms deep at the top and 60 cms at the bottom.
