A Superior Quality Pair of Side Cabinets

19th century
Description

A superior quality Pair of Side Cabinets each having Veneered cross grained Mahogany fronts and sides framed by solid mahogany , Ormolu mounts through out , the drawers are Oak lined Dove tail jointed and the top edge lined with Mahogany the tops are Carrera Marble with a grey vein the interior cupboards are also lined with Carrera Marble . These cabinets are made by Frederic Schmit one of the greatest French Cabinet makers of the second half of the 19th century active in Paris at the Rue de Charonne starting in 1856 , he received Gold medals at the 1878 and 1889 Expositions Universelles in Paris .
