Dutch Walnut Display Cabinet or Cabinet Bookcase

19th century
Description

Circa 1820, Dutch display cabinet or bookcase in exceptionally figured walnut. The serpentine moulded cornice is surmounted by a carved cartouche, above a pair of arched rectangular glazed doors with shaped frames opening to the shelved interior. The bombe base has three long graduated drawers flanked by cupboard doors, and the shaped apron has a carved central portrait medallion. It is all raised on bold paw feet and has its original rococo style bronze handles and escutcheons.
