Constructed of tulipwood veneers, the drawer fronts boast stunning parquetry work, which incorporate shaped satinwood stringing. The sides of the bedsides display lovely mirror matched parquetry veneers encompassed by further satinwood stringing. The drawers retain their original brass floral fretwork handles and are constructed with dovetailed oak drawer linings. The tops of the bedside possess their original and exceptionally good quality veined freestanding marble Italian tops. The front corners of the bedsides are decorated with fine brass ormolu mounts, with a shaped apron below the drawers. The bedsides sit on four fine elegant cabriole legs and, the two front legs feature brass ormolu sabots (toes).

These bedsides exhibit a rich warm colour. As they boast the original polish, they have a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.

Condition Report:
These bedside cabinets are in good original condition. Nominal old use to the leading edges of the frames but nothing significant considering the age of the item. Importantly, there is no damage or chips to the tops of the original freestanding marble tops. Please note, the marble tops were designed to be freestanding; which means they are meant to rest by gravity alone on the tops of the bedsides. They are very heavy and are not supposed to be glued down. The dovetailed drawers are smooth running and close flush to the frame; they also feature the original brass drawer handles and the original brass ormolu mounts. The bedsides also retain their original polish, ensuring there is a wonderful colour and patination. These besides are solid in joint and ready to use.
