Description

This is a very attractive gilded diplay or vitrine cabinet which dates from around 1870. The cabinet has a mirror back and fitted glass shelves, all in good order and is lined in a powder blue silk. This has its original gilded finish which has a delightful rich glow. The top has historic marks to the surface but in an old and characterful way. The cabinet is decorated with spiralling floral scrolls and lotus banding and it is raised on fluted turned tapering legs. The cabinet has beautiful bowed glass to both the side panels and the door, which also has a working lock and key. This is a substantial piece measuring 27 ins by 13 ins deep by 54 ins high.
