Description

A superb Japanese Shibayama hanging wall cabinet. Inlaid and decorated throughout with ivory, mother of pearl and bone, with raised lacquer and gilded highlights. The shaped and carved top above a pair of sliding doors both with shibayama feeding birds and floral decoration. The very good recessed centre panel with an Oriental character to the foreground looking out to sea to a distant island with junks, birds and fauna, again with raised and gilded lacquer. The lower centre having 3 recessed drawers each having shibayama decoration with 2 conforming angled side doors. The whole in very good condition.
