Edwardian Inlaid Mahogany Bow Front Glazed Display Cabinet

An Edwardian inlaid mahogany bow front glazed display cabinet (or bookcase) in the manner of Edwards & Roberts.

The cabinet consists of a moulding to the top with a fine quality frieze below of inlaid ribbon and swag decoration.

This leads down to two twelve pane astragal glazed mahogany bow form doors (with key) with boxwood stringing, the interior having two mahogany adjustable shelves.

The sides of the cabinet have inlaid swags, an urn to the centre and floral and foliate decoration in the Classical design with mahogany and boxwood stringing.

The base, of bow front table form, has a central inlaid design of a Classical urn with foliate decoration with mahogany and boxwood stringing.

The base has a mahogany lined drawer also inlaid with floral and foliate decoration.

To the top of the legs at the front and sides is an inlaid design of a Grecian urn with inlaid decoration of harebell swags, rosettes and mahogany & boxwood stringing.

The legs are of elegant tapered form with boxwood stringing to the corners.

This item could equally be used either as a display cabinet or bookcase.

This cabinet is in very good condition, is of stable construction and can go straight into a home.
