Fine Quality French 19thc Tulip and Kingwood Ladies Dressing Cabinet

A fine quality French mid 19th century tulip and Kingwood ladies dressing cabinet of small proportions.

The top consists of mirrored tulipwood veneers with Kingwood crossbanding, surrounded by a brass gallery.

This leads down to the cabinet section with two opening doors again with mirrored tulip veneers and Kingwood banding. The top section has fine quality ormolu mouldings and escutcheons.

The inside of the cabinet has one shelf and is constructed from fine quality mahogany.

Below this are two small drawers which are oak lined with ormolu mounts and handles.

This section has fine quality ormolu mounts of rams heads to the top and of floral design to the bottom.

The top of the base section consists of fine quality tulipwood veneers with Kingwood banding surrounded by an ormolu moulding.

This leads down to a brush & slide finished in a red velvet fabric, crossbanded in Kingwood with two ormolu handles.

Below this are three drawers each of tulipwood with Kingwood banding and oak linings. Each drawer has ormolu mouldings & escutcheons and two ormolu handles.

The side panels are shaped and quarter veneered in tulipwood and Kingwood crossbanding and the cabinet stands on a shaped Kingwood plinth with a large central ormolu mount.

This cabinet is in excellent condition for age and can go straight into a home and could be used for many purposes.
