The bedsides boast an elegant serpentine design. Constructed of tulipwood and kingwood veneers in a symmetrical form to each side and tops of the bedsides, they boast stunning floral marquetry work to the tops, sides and front of the bedsides. The marquetry consists of satinwood, olive wood and mahogany. The drawers retain their original brass floral fretwork handles and feature dovetailed drawer linings. Below is an open cabinet area, ideal for storing books and other small items. The tops of the bedside feature a small-refined gallery. The bedsides sit on four elegant cabriole legs and the two front legs feature brass ormolu mounts.
These bedsides feature a rich vibrant colour. As they boast the original polish, they have a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
Condition Report:
These bedside cabinets are in excellent original condition. Nominal old use to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The tops are free from any marks or water stains. The drawers are smooth running and close flush to the frame; they also feature the original brass drawer handles and the original brass ormolu mounts. These besides are solid in joint and ready to use.
