Splendid Figured Walnut Antique Victorian Cabinet

This Splendid Figured Walnut Antique Victorian Cabinet Dates from around 1860 and was originally used to store sheet music. This beautiful antique has been constructed from the finest quality burr walnut with rosewood crossbanding along with boxwood and ebony string inlays. The top is moulded with an ornate brass gallery above a full length door with moulded edges and key with working lock. The sides are also crossbanded showing a true sign of quality and also the work of a true craftsman from the Victorian era. The cabinet door comprises of a lovely pleated neutral material complimented with brass grills for that super finish. The interior has three removable shelves, one fixed shelf and two fixed divides. This eye catching piece has elegantly turned reeded ornately carved pillars and stands on a plain plinth with castors. The walnut has aged to a warm rich shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
