George IV Mahogany Two Door Cabinet Bookcase

Description

Circa 1830, George IV mahogany two door cabinet bookcase. The concave cornice over a neat beading and a small flame mahogany panel. There are two glazed doors with stylish Gothic arch astragals which are ribbed and fluted. Inside there are three adjustable shelves with rounded mahogany facings. Beneath the flat section is a small half round panel in flame mahogany which matches the veneer beneath the cornice. On the base are two doors with flame mahogany fielded panels, and carved pilasters either side with acanthus leaves on the top over a ribbed section and finishing in a curled section at the base. All standing on an enclosed plinth. Good colour, clean, sturdy and functional.

Size 222cm high x 132cm wide x 51cm deep.
