Art Nouveau Inlaid Mahogany Glazed Display Cabinet

1900 - 1920
Description

Large Art Nouveau inlaid mahogany glazed display cabinet.

Dates from 1900-1920.

Lovely marquetry inlays, shape and style.

A great Decorative Arts piece of nice quality...very rare.

This is a lovely item, with a nice look together with loads of charm and character.

Solid, with no loose joints and the mahogany lined drawers slide freely.

No woodworm.

No keys and the locks are consequently untested.

Overall maximum dimensions: 135cm wide, 44cm deep, 146cm high. Glazed display areas (internal) 31cm wide, 34cm deep, 72cm high (restricted by 65cm high door opening). Central shelves 52cm wide, 34cm deep (20cm high space above each).

The later paper lining is old, faded, worn and marked. Glass shelves may be later. There may have originally been a drop down door over the centre shelves, but looks fine or probably better without.

As with all genuine antique furniture, you can expect to see some historic knocks, marks, wear, imperfections, cracks, scratches, repairs and/or alterations.

Please check dimensions before purchasing.

Item reference WNA-4014N15.

Archival Detail
Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
