Description

A very fine Georgian bedside table/pot cupboard in mahogany. This beautifully understated cabinet – of simple, plain design – consists of a square top having a shallow gallery upstand of 1/2” (12mm) high. There is a cupboard door bordered by a delicately moulded bead beneath which are four square-section leg supports united by a cross-stretcher. It retains its original finish with a rich colour and a glowing patina and is finished all round allowing it to be positioned in the middle of a room if desired, to be used as a wine table. It is English, from the reign of George III, c.1775 – c.1800.
