Georgian Antiques has dated this piece to the 1750s.
The silver face has a calendar and Roman and Arabic numerals. There is stylish foliate engraving on the sides and mythical seahorses. The flame mahogany door is also typical of Edinburgh clocks, with a shaped top and rounded mouldings, with fluted pilasters either side. The large base has similar pilasters again and finishes on bracket feet. Serviced and working.
