A substantial antique Victorian mahogany showcase formerly housing silverware and objets d''art. This imposing shop fitting is of exceptional quality with it''s ogee cornice showing Greek key detail, reeding and satinwood and ebony cartouche. This above a huge ebony and boxwood strung door complete with it''s original and rare brass wheel(for easier movement with less strain). To the sides, door, plinth and shelving and the beading is the most beautiful split moulding ebony. The rear of the cabinet is covered in red velvet. All in all you would have to say that it is amongst the best today as it was the day it was made. Inside is the remains of some antique lighting although this currently is not useable as the antique bulbs would have to pass an electric safety test).
