The cabinet is designed for storing sheet music or music books horizontally in the drawers. The drawers pull out and drop down to enable you full access to all the paper sheet music or music books. Although it is designed as a music sheet cabinet, it also makes a very pretty and practical bedside cabinet. The top of the cabinet features a moulded reeded edge. The front of the cabinet features four drop down drawers with their original steel handles. The front of the drawer’s features hinged brackets, which are stamped “Stone’s Patent”. The fronts of the drawers are veneered with a lighter colour mahogany. The cabinet stands on a moulded frieze and terminated on its original length elegant cabriole legs.
This cabinet would make on excellent bedside cabinet, magazine or newspaper storage box. This is an extremely useful piece of furniture and a great asset to have in any bedroom, living room or hallway as it consumes very little space.
As this item boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and the years of care and cleaning they have received.
Condition Report:
Originally designed as use for a music cabinet, it makes a very pretty bedside cabinet. This item is in excellent original condition. The item features the original polish and patination, which gives it the rich colour you see in the photos. This stunning colour can only be found in furniture with its original polish; it cannot be recreated with new polish. The item also features its original inlay, brass-hinged drawer. The legs are original to the cabinet. Free of woodworm, solid in joint and ready to use.
