Description

A very good and large mid-19th century brass-bound rosewood APOTHECARY CABINET or MEDICINE CHEST, beautifully fitted with virtually all of its original contents.

The well-figured and brass-bound lid opens to reveal the upper section, with 16 glass bottles and stoppers, most with original paper labels and some with contents, together with a glass mixing slab.

Below, accessed via the recessed brass military style handle, is a drawer full of a large number of items which include; further set of six small glass bottles, labels and contents; pair of tin canisters; glass pestle & mortar; scales; weights and various other items including and interesting contemporary pamphlet. Original key.
