Art Nouveau Display Cabinet

Description

Unusual late 19th.c. Art Nouveau / Glasgow School style mahogany cabinet by the celebrated English makers Gillows of Lancaster c.1895. Bow front design with shaped glass display top over a blind door cupboard flanked on each side by open display shelves. Long tapering legs and staves joined above the foot with a shaped shelf stretcher. With tulip shaped brass straps to the doors reminiscent of the work of the Arts & Crafts designers Charles Renne Mackintosh and Charles Voysey. Fitted interior to the cupboard with shelves and pigeon holes for stationery. Clearly stamped ‘Gillows of Lancaster’ on the locks. Excellent condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops. Keys supplied.

Dimensions: width 44", depth 17", height 72".
