Quality, Unusual, Regency Mahogany Antique Side Cabinet.

In the style and of the quality of a Gillows piece this delightful mahogany antique cabinet dates from the Regency period, circa 1830. It has a beautifully figured top with reeded edge above a central cupboard door with pierced brass front and key with working lock. The interior of the cabinet contains three adjustable shelves and is flanked by two finally carved rope twist columns with acanthus leaf decoration both at the top and bottom. It stands on unusual bun feet, in the typical design of a Gillows piece, and is a rich medium shade of mahogany with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
