Description

A rare and superior pair of antique 19th century Victorian glazed pier side cabinets. These wonderful English jewellery display curio collectors bijouterie vitrines are constructed in brass with ebony and glazed doors. They have the unusual feature of having glass sides and canted glazed corners. Internally there is a full set of adjustable shelves which could even be used as a bookcase or bookshelves. The same example exists in one of the leading national Trust Halls in the Midlands. They have had a full re-line and are ready to place in the home. One of the cabinets has a plinth which is slightly deeper than the other. Circa 1870. Measure 55”h x 33”w 14”d.
