Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This earthenware ceramic vase dates from the 1920 period and follows an Art Deco style with a baluster shape. The piece displays a cream-coloured glazed body with an impressed backstamp and slight bruising in a small area. The top neck section carries wavy bands in purple, green and yellow, while the shoulder area holds hand-painted florals in rich shades of purple, orange, yellow and blue amid green leaves. A simple yellow ring accentuates the lower base rim. Measuring 37 cm high by 23 cm wide, this item makes a striking addition to a home interior. It sits well on a sideboard top in a living room, dining room or hallway, providing a traditional display vessel for dried or fresh stems, or standing alone as a decorative art piece on a display shelf.

Carter, Stabler & Adams was the trading name adopted by Poole Pottery during the 1920s after a partnership between Charles Carter, Harold Stabler, and Phoebe Stabler. Ceramics from this era are recognized for hand-painted earthenware featuring stylized floral and geometric band patterns produced in Dorset, England.

These ceramic items were typically hand-thrown or molded using red terracotta or buff earthenware clay. They were finished with a matt or semi-matt white tin glaze and decorated by hand using painted oxide pigments prior to firing.

Authentic pieces from this decade usually feature an impressed factory mark reading Carter Stabler Adams Ltd Poole England stamped on the base. Decorator marks, shape reference numbers, and distinct pattern codes were also painted or incised alongside the factory imprint.

Display the ceramic vessel on a neutral sideboard, mantlepiece, or deep window sill to highlight the polychrome painted details. Pair it with natural timber furniture to create a balanced contrast between craft ceramics and contemporary furnishings.

Clean the exterior gently using a soft cloth dampened with warm water and mild liquid soap. Avoid submerging earthenware in water or placing it in a dishwasher, as moisture can enter fine crazing lines in the glaze.
